Interview with Writer/Audiobook Narrator Perry Bruns! II NecronomiCon Tampa Updates
On Friday, May 16, Heather Dewey Pettet Interviewed Perry F. Bruns on Heather’s YouTube channel.
During the interview, Heather and Perry discussed Perry’s volunteer work at Necronomicon Tampa — the longest running science fiction convention in the southeastern United States — and its little sister con, SouthernMediaCon.
They also talked about Necro Gaming Days, a program that is aimed at gamers of all types, including RPG, and will be held as part of the SouthernMediaCon convention, which will be held the weekend of June 20-22.
Heather and Perry also discussed the history of these events, beginning with the first meeting of the Stonehill Science Fiction Association in 1981. The organizers held the first convention in 1982, at the University of South Florida campus.
Since 2021, Necronomicon Tampa has been held at the Embassy Suites at USF, on the main campus in Tampa, Florida. This year’s con, the 44th annual Necronomicon Tampa, will be held on the weekend of September 26-28.
