Board Game Championships coming to Necronomicon 2026!

Mark your calendars—Necronomicon is hosting the ultimate board game showdown! This September, we're thrilled to announce that Necronomicon has been selected as the official Florida State qualifier hub for the Road to Gen Con Championships, featuring an incredible lineup of 12 titles. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or looking to test your skills, this is your chance to claim victory, earn trophies, and punch your ticket to the Southeast Regional Championship at CharCon 2027 or the Bicycle National Championships at Gen Con 2027.

Game Qualifier Schedule

Friday 6PM - 9PM - 16 players
The 2026 Florida State Rebel Princess Championship

Snow White, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, and many other fairy tale princesses are celebrating a five-day party. The prince charmings, who have not been invited, will try to infiltrate the ball to propose marriage to the girls. As a princess, you have to avoid marriage proposals and remain single and independent after the celebrations. The winner of this tournament will get a trophy, a copy of the game, plus a seat at the final round of the Southeast Regional Championship at CharCon 2027 (as well as a free badge to CharCon 2027)!

Friday 9PM - 12AM - 16 players
The 2026 Florida State Coup Championship

You are head of a family in an Italian city-state, a city run by a weak and corrupt court. You need to manipulate, bluff and bribe your way to power. Your object is to destroy the influence of all the other families, forcing them into exile. You want to be the last player with influence in the game, with influence being represented by face-down character cards in your playing area. The winner of this tournament will get a trophy, a copy of the game, plus a seat at the final round of the Southeast Regional Championship at CharCon 2027 (as well as a free badge to CharCon 2027)!

The 2026 Florida State boop. Championship

A deceptively cute, deceivingly challenging abstract strategy game for two players. Every time you place a kitten on the bed, it goes “boop.” Which is to say that it pushes every other kitten on the board one space away. Line up three kittens in a row to graduate them into cats… and then, get three cats in a row to win. The winner of this tournament will get a trophy, a copy of the game, plus a seat at the final round of the Southeast Regional Championship at CharCon 2027 (as well as a free badge to CharCon 2027)!

The 2026 Florida State Haunted Mouse Championship

A ladder climbing/shedding game where mice not only shed their own fears (cards), but can use the fears of others! The first mouse to complete their cheese wheel wins the game and never goes hungry again! The winner of this tournament will get a trophy, a copy of the game, plus a seat at the final round of the Southeast Regional Championship at CharCon 2027 (as well as a free badge to CharCon 2027)!

The 2026 Florida State Enthrone Championship

An abstract, two-player deduction game. Can you deduce the identity of your opponent's pawn and eliminate it? Remove three key political targets? Or simply waltz in undetected and seize the throne? The winner of this tournament will get a trophy, a copy of the game, plus a seat at the final round of the Southeast Regional Championship at CharCon 2027 (as well as a free badge to CharCon 2027)!

The 2026 Florida State Oracle: Predict Your Tricks! Championship

Gaze into the future and predict your results to win! Each round, roll the scrying dice to determine the rules for this round. Then, based on your hand and a single card from each of your opponents, you’ll predict both the number of tricks you’ll take and bet on how an opponent’s round is going to go. The winner of this tournament will get a trophy, a copy of the game, plus a seat at the final round of the Southeast Regional Championship at CharCon 2027 (as well as a free badge to CharCon 2027)!

The 2026 Florida State Skull King Championship

Brent Beck's Skull King is a trick-taking game similar to Oh Hell!, Wizard and Spades, with players needing to state how many tricks they think they'll win each round. Pirates and other special cards add to the strategy. The winner of this tournament will get a trophy, a copy of the game, plus a seat at the final round of the Southeast Regional Championship at CharCon 2027 (as well as a free badge to CharCon 2027)!

Sunday 10AM - 1PM - 12 players
The 2026 Florida State Logic & Lore Championship

A cozy-but-competitive deduction game for two players. Rivals race to be the first to align their hidden stars. The game ends when either one player aligns all of their cards correctly OR a player chooses to reveal all of their cards. If the cards are correct, they win; otherwise, their opponent wins. The winner of this tournament will get a trophy, a copy of the game, plus a seat at the final round of the Southeast Regional Championship at CharCon 2027 (as well as a free badge to CharCon 2027)!

The 2027 U.S. National Bicycle Spades Championship Qualifier
Friday 8PM - 12AM

The United States Playing Card Company and Double Exposure present an official qualifier for the U.S. National Spades Championship at Gen Con 2027. Hoyle rules will be used for partnership Spades. Two preliminary rounds followed by Elimination rounds. The winning team will receive trophies and a free entry into the first elimination round of the U.S. National Spades Championship at Gen Con 2027 (plus a free 4-day badge for Gen Con 2027!). You can enter with an established partner or find one at the event.


The 2027 U.S. National Bicycle Euchre Championship Qualifier
Saturday 11AM - 3PM

The United States Playing Card Company and Double Exposure present an official qualifier for the U.S. National Euchre Championship at Gen Con 2027. Hoyle rules will be used for partnership Euchre. Two preliminary rounds followed by Elimination rounds. The winning team will receive trophies and a free entry into the first elimination round of the U.S. National Euchre Championship at Gen Con 2027 (plus a free 4-day badge for Gen Con 2027!). You can enter with an established partner or find one at the event.

Two preliminary rounds followed by Elimination rounds. The winner will receive a trophy and a free entry into the first elimination round of the U.S. National Hearts Championship at Gen Con 2027 (plus a free 4-day badge for Gen Con 2027!).

Doomlings, LLC and Double Exposure present an official qualifier for the U.S. National Doomlings Championship at Gen Con 2027. Slightly modified tournament rules for standard Doomlings play, no expansions. Two preliminary rounds followed by Elimination rounds. The winner will receive a trophy and a free entry into the first elimination round of the U.S. National Doomlings Championship at Gen Con 2027 (plus a free 4-day badge for Gen Con 2027!).
